Jackie
  • Jackie O'Carroll - Director
    BA (Hons), PG dips, RGN, RSCN

  • Jackie has a background in health and social care, with extensive experience of working with vulnerable children and families. Jackie has broad experience in research and evaluation and is committed to the involvement of users of services in service development. Jackie is one of the North West regional leads for the National Transition Support Programme until March 2011, supporting local areas in the North West to transform their transition arrangements for disabled young people.

  • In addition Jackie continues to campaign on behalf of disabled young people and their families to support access to personalised transition support, and is committed to the principles of inclusion and developing the whole of the children’s workforce to become totally inclusive towards disabled children, young people and their families

  • Jackie has been responsible for facilitating parent-led conferences across the North West bringing together parents, carers and professionals to facilitate and support meaningful dialogue and discussion between parents and carers, service providers and professionals.

  • Most recently Jackie has embarked on training to become a coach – initially working with clients on a one to one basis, and then extending this to working with organisations. For more information click the link to Jackie's coaching page.




Kath
  • Kath Hennell - Director
    BA(Hons), MA in Research Methods with distinction

  • Kath was formerly UK Operations Director with Weston Spirit, a national youth charity and has considerable experience of project and service development, bid writing and managing change processes. Kath is experienced in developing projects and services for groups of vulnerable children and young people including disabled children, looked after young people, offenders and young people from disadvantaged communities.


  • As an experienced researcher and evaluator Kath has undertaken research into the experiences of young disabled people and their families as they transition from children to adult services, the experiences of looked after children and health needs analysis for marginalised communities. Kath is experienced in evaluating interventions focused on improving outcomes for children and young people; eg ‘Team Around the Child’ approach, sure start local programmes and training schemes.

  • Kath is committed to supporting meaningful change for disabled children and their families, she has undertaken an interim management role for Aiming High for Disabled Children, has supported local areas to build skilled and inclusive workforces across children’s services and been part of the national field force team for Aiming High for Disabled Children. Kath has recently been appointed as an Associate Tutor on the social science degree courses at Edge Hill University.
